Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - North Banjarmasin Sector Police arrested a citizens suspected stealing water from regional water-taps company PDAM Bandarmasih.
"We captured him on Monday (8/9), and now he is in our custody," said Chief of North Banjarmasin Sector Police AKP Fahmi Ansyori on Thursday.
Police arrested him over the reports of PDAM that the theft of water taps was very detrimental. "We arrested him at his house," he said.
The arrest, said Fahmi, runs smoothly without resistance. He could not wimp out with all the evidence. "When the arrest, PDAM was also there," he said.
The perpetrator violating Article 362 of the Criminal Code on stealing and punishable with a penalty of 5 years in prison.
Director of PDAM Bandarmasih H Muslih confirmed the company had reported a citizen to the police for stealing water taps and caused a loss of Rp25 million.
"He (the actor) take water taps without meters, for sale, and very aggrieved to Rp25 million," he explained.
