Banjarmasin (South Kalimantan Antaranews) - Banjarmasin Water Police Unit intensifies patrols in the territorial waters or rivers up to the peripheral areas.
"Patrol in the waters or river to suburbs to curb crime in residential areas that are in the periphery," said Water Police Chief AKP Untung Widoro Friday.
According to him, the residential areas on the outskirts of the river is quite vulnerable to perpetrators of crimes seeked the river, especially in the residential suburb adjacent to the river.
"Crime action either robbing or thief who break through houses and this should not to happen again," he said.
He heard some information, thief break through houses on the outskirts of the river have occurred in the area of Sungai Andai or in residential areas Mandiri Complex near the river, North Banjarmasin.
"We will intensify patrol officers there, because of the river in that area is quite vulnerable, and according to indication robber uses boat," he said.
He expects people who live on the outskirts of the river continue to be vigilant, because crime can happen through countless hours and anywhere.
"If there are movements of suspicious people, report immediately to the police," he said reminding that quite a lot of rivers in Banjarmasin also integrated with neighboring areas, such as Barito Kuala district and Banjar District.
