Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - PT Minamas Plantation Indonesia remains focused to meet the demand of Crude Palm Oil (CPO)  in the country, despite the possibility of exporting to foreign countries.


"Currently we are still focus to serve the demand in the country (Indonesia), but does not rule out the possibility to export," said President Director of Minamas Plantation Yahaya Mohd Ghozali in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, on Monday. 

He said it on the sidelines of iftar with a range of PT Minamas Plantation and mass media leaders in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan. 

According to Ghozali, it continues to improve the quality of CPO production quality standards through certification of sustainable palm  plantations or the Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). 

"Every product produced by PT Minamas gradually bagging RSPO certification, so as to meet customer demand or market requires quality products," he said. 

RSPO is an international organization that issued the certificate of quality standard oil palm plantations, where palm oil producers committed to operating according to the standard. 

Currently, he said, three subsidiaries PT Minamas had the RSPO certificate and in the future subsidiaries spread in eight provinces all expected to have international certificates. 

"Steps taken are cooperating intensively, facilities and training as well as guidance for farmers so that production subsidiaries can achieve RSPO certification in 2020," he said. 

According to him, the growth rate of productivity of palm oil and palm oil production in Kalimantan quite well, in addition to other plantations scattered in four provinces in Sumatra, namely Jambi, Aceh, Riau and South Sumatra. 

"Oil palm plantations in Kalimantan scattered in four provinces namely South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan and West Kalimantan with growth rate and productivity of CPO pretty good," he said./e
