The Sahabat Bekantan Indonesia (SBI) Foundation together with South Kalimantan Environment Agency planted as many as 10 thousand casturi mangoes (mangifera casturi) trees on World Environment Day.

Chairwoman of South Kalimantan SBI Amalia Rezeki here on Friday said, World Environment Day is always a momentum for SBI to work to preserve the environment and nature.

"Today we plant casturi tree which is the mascot of South Kalimantan flora and as part of planting 10 thousand of casturi seedlings movement we have been intensifying," she said.

Casturi, according to her, is considered extinct in the wild as declared by the international conservation agency IUCN, thus a massive effort to preserve it is needed to involve all parties.
