International flyers will now need to submit PCR swab test results, showing they have tested negative for COVID-19, while domestic flyers will have to furnish the results of their rapid test, the task force stated.

"For domestic flights, passengers may submit either the PCR test or rapid test results," head of the National Task Force for the Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling, Doni Monardo, told press after a limited meeting on Thursday at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

This refers to the regulation laid down in Circular Letter Number 4 of 2020, issued by the task force, regarding the criteria for public mobility restrictions to tackle COVID-19, which was later revised in Circular Letter Number 6 of 2020.

Meanwhile, international flight health protocols have been regulated in Circular Letter Number HK.02.01/MENKES/313/2020, issued by the Ministry of Health.

Under the new guidelines, “anyone who has recently returned from abroad, whether in an individual capacity or as a migrant worker, is required to carry a PCR test result”, Monardo noted. (INE)
