The Regent of South Hulu Sungai (HSS) H Achmad Fikry stated that Tanuhi hot spring, one of the leading tourist objects in HSS, continues to be improved to provide comfort and attract more visitors to come.


As he reviewed the tourism facility, the regent was satisfied that cottages or lodges here always full, especially in weekend. But, he said, it still need additional facilities.

"Our plan for next year is to provide a representative parking lot. We are now in the process of land acquisition. Thus we hope the regional revenue to increase," he said, while reviewing the Tanuhi hot spring in Loksado, Wednesday (Feb 12, 2020).

He came to Tanuhi, after attending the development planning forum on the Regional Government Work Plan (Musrenbang RKPD) at the Loksado Subdistrict.

Tanuhi hot spring is in Hulu Banyu Village, Loksado Subdistrict, which is famous for its stunning natural landscape, its rain forest, waterfalls, traditional wooden long house, adventurous bamboo rafting. 

Previously in 2018, the district government had improved some facilities in the Tanuhi hot spring, such as lodging rooms, warm water wading pools, public toilets, dressing rooms, restrooms, and mushalla.

When the regent reviewed the facility, the swimming pools were being drained for cleaning to welcome weekend, lodging rooms were cleared up, just as the regent appealed to keep all tourism facilities cleaned every day.

A trip to Tanuhi hot spring from Banjarmasin, which is about 168 kilometers, takes about four hours. But it only 30 kilometers from Kandangan, the capital of HSS, and visitors can go by car or ride a motorcycle while enjoying the beautiful scenery of nature of the Meratus Mountains and its surroundings.
