Tabalong River, which crosses several sub-districts in Tabalong, South Kalimantan, has overflowed and caused a number of bridges broke up and washed away. They were a bridge connecting Panaan Village - Dambung Village, in Bintang Ara Sub-district, and a bridge from Hayub Village to Ribang Village in Haruai.


"We have reported the incident to Public Work and Housing (PUPR) Office in order to be followed up," said Bintang Ara Sub-district head Suryadi, Wednesday (Feb 5, 2020). 

As a result of the break-up of bridges connecting villages, local people have to take alternative road which is more far.

The overflow water of Tabalong River has not only broke bridges, but has swamped people's houses in the Sub-districts of Banua Lawas, Muara Uya, Murung Pudak, and Haruai.

Even the area of the city, where several roads were being inundated, such as Jalan Obor at the Mabuun Terminal.

Meanwhile, members of independent unit of disaster mitigation, precinct police, and sub-district military immediately came to the location of a broken bridge at the Hayub Village.
