TBS Price In Kotabaru Crawling Up

Kotabaru , South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - Price of Big Fresh Bunches (TBS) of oil palm in Kotabaru, started creeping up in the last few days.

A TBS businessman in Kotabaru, Sunarso, on Monday said prices at the farm level this week increased by Rp55 per kg.

The hike begins at palm oil mills (PKS) to raise prices for incoming TBS to be processed. Businessmen or traders are unable to raise the price of TBS, when PKS or crude palm oil (CPO) managers did not raise the price.

Price increases can also occur when the provincial government established, because TBS and derivatives pricing for this much by government and planters associations intervention.

In addition to the CPO industry, government, and business associations, there is still indicator of price fluctuations.

Planting age, condition of TBS, PKtS distance with TBS -producing plantation, and other factors could also be deliberation of up or down prices.

"Alhamdulillah , the current price of TBS on Sunday start up Rp50 per kg , from Rp900 to Rp950 per kg," said the farmer from Bumi Asih, South Kelumpang Subdistrict, Sholeh.

Although a relatively small increase in the price of TBS itmean anything for farmers, due to the increased price could be a motivation for self smallholders.  *** ***
