Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - Chairman of Commission III South Kalimantan DPRD on infrastructure and development H Puar Junaidi said the reclamation of mine excavation in this province is still very minimal.
"The lack of such reclamation happen both for the holder of a cooperation agreement coal mining concession (PKP2B ) and mining business license (IUP)," he said here on Monday.
As a result , post-mining left a lot of holes dug. Not rarely the excavation pits left open without reclamation.
"In general, they reasoned, holes dug deliberately not closed for they still going to do mine again," said Chairman of Commission III, which is also in charge of mining, energy, and the environment.
To the question, he said the commission with the Agency of Mines will establish a supervisor team in charge of mining activity evaluation. The results will be submitted to the local government as a follow-up of South Kalimantan law No. 1 of 2013 on Post-Mining Reclamation.
For companies that do not conduct reclamation, and have mine reclamation security deposit, then the governor can ask the central to disburse these funds, and appoint a third party. Then a third party will do reclamation, because the company is not able to implement it. *** ***
