Tanjung, S Kalimantan, (Antaranews Kalsel) - PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Metan Tanjung has started explorations for methane gas in Tabalong, South Kalimantan.
The start of explorations was marked with the breaking of ground in the village of Walangkir, in the sub-district of Tanta, where the first well will be drilled.
General Manager PT PHE Metan Tanjung II Tony S Priantono said the company plans to drill three explorations wells to be drilled in Tabalong.
There will be two wells in the village of Walangkir and one in one in the village of Pupau Ku`u.
The first well will be drilled as deep as 750 meters and explorations in the well will take around 27 days, Tony said.
Next drilling will be in the one in village of Pulau Ku`u in the sub-district of Tanta for which the license has been secured from the district administration.
Budi Tamtomo, the vice president of PT PHE Metan Tanjung II, said support from local people and district administration is expected for the methane gas explorations.
The local people will benefit from the project that will provide alternative energy, the company said. ***3***
