Banjarmasin, (Antaranews, South Kalimantan) – PT Pelindo Banjarmasin distribute 2,000 food packages to the poor to alleviate post-hike of fuel impact and ahead of Ramadan 1434 Hijri.

The package was delivered to  two regions: 1,700 packages to the city of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan; and 300 packages will be delivered on Monday (8/7) to District Pulang Pisau, Central Kalimantan. 

Special to Banjarmasin, this aid was targeted to disadvantaged residents who live around or in the environment of Pelindo III Banjarmasin, like unloading labors and cleaning service. Targeting is based on the consideration that the community is a group that  affected by the increase in fuel price and living around the harbor.

Food packages were distributed to over a thousand people on Thursday (4/7) in the courtyard of the PT Pelindo III Banjarmasin was attended by the Deputy Mayor H. Irwan Ansari and General Manager Toto Heli Yanto.

Irwan Ansari expressed his appreciation to the Management of Pelindo III of its concern to the citizens. After rising fuel prices impact the price hike of essential goods, so that the program provides direct benefits to the community. Corporate social programs like this need to be carried out more frequently in order to ease the economic burden.

In addition to social assistance to the community, PT Pelindo has budgeted for aid 2 units of garbage trucks and some motorcycles with tub for Banjarmasin City Government to be used to overcome the problems of transporting waste. It is the mission of this state own company  that its presence is for the society of Banjarmasin.
