Customs Destroy Two Million Cigarette

Banjarmasin, 16/5 (Antaranews,South Kalimantan) -  Banjarmasin Office of Surveillance and Customs Services Type B destroyed two million illegal cigarettes following more counterfeit excise stamps.

Head of Sub Division of General Office of Surveillance and Customs Services Iwan Setyaboedhi  in Banjarmasin, said on Thursday that it destroyed evidence of the catch in 2012.

Extermination was done in Jalan Governor Soebarjo, South Rim, precisely in final waste disposal site (TPA) Banjarmasin, watched by the police and the head of TPA Basirih Banjarmasin on Thursday (16/5) morning around 09.30.

Destroyed evidences were illegal cigarettes of various brands amounted to 2.22546 million rods, counterfeit excise stamps totaling 612 pieces, and also 1 airsoft gun spare part.

Furthermore, import documents in 1979-2000, the export documents of export declaration in 1979-2000, as well as other evidences also destroyed in the event. 

He said the destruction base on rule of Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia No. S-559/MK.6/2012 as well as others in which the basic law of the case approval destruction of goods which become the property of the state.

The illegal cigarettes violated article 29 paragraph 1 of Law No. 39 of 2007 on amendments to the Law No. 11 of 1995 on excise. Culprit imprisonment at least 1 year and a maximum of 5 years and / or a fine of two times the value of excise duty and at most 10 times the value of excise. While the use of fake excise or former threatened with imprisonment for 1 year and a maximum of 8 years.

"State losses incurred as a result of the circulation of illegal cigarettes of various brands was estimated at Rp 756,656,400 and future monitoring will continue and be enhanced," he said after the ceremony destruction of evidence.

Iwan said, most of the supply of illegal cigarettes from Java through marine transportation supervision they considered weak and not advanced. Also described, various marketing cigarettes brands and illegal status, mostly in the plantation or suburb city of Banjarmasin.
