The Sultan Suriansyah General Hospital (RSUD), built by the Banjarmasin City Government, will start operating this August, said a Health Agency official.


"Sultan Suriansyah General Hospital is scheduled to have a soft opening as a sign that it will start operating on August 12," said Head of Banjarmasin Health Agency Dr. Machli Riyadi here on Tuesday.

According to him, the soft opening of the hospital, which is located on Jalan RK Ilir, South Banjarmasin, will open emergency services for 24 hours a day.

"The hospital serves inpatient and outpatient during soft opening, but patient beds available around 24," he said.

Other services available such as pediatric clinics, surgical clinics, internal medicine, obstetrics, ENT, medic rehabilitation, dental and oral clinics and medical check-ups.

"Everything is ready, including the human resources," Machli said.

Meanwhile the inauguration of the hospital, which was established from 2015, is planned to take place on the 493th anniversary of Banjarmasin on September 24, 2019.

Deputy Mayor H Hermansyah asked Sultan Suriansyah Regional Hospital to really be able to provide three basic services, namely outpatient, inpatient and check-up during the soft opening. "So these three basic services must really be done," he said.

So far, Sultan Suriansyah Hospital is still under construction. This year, IDR 70 billion has been allocated for the construction of the main building for inpatients. Development is targeted to be completed by 2020.
