Head of the Immigration Division of the South Kalimantan Office of Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Dodi Karnida said, 22 Foreign Citizens (WNA) are studying at the Al Ihsan Islamic Boarding School in Banjarmasin.

22 foreign nationals were 18 men and 4 women. They were 12 people from Cambodia (10 men and 2 women), Malaysians 6 people consisting of 4 men and 2 women, and 4 male Vietnamese citizens.

"Everything is legal, because each has a Limited Stay Permit (KITAS) as a student," Dodi explained.

Dodi revealed, the Islamic boarding school on Jalan Seberang Mesjid, Central Banjarmasin, Banjarmasin City, is one of the educational institutions in South Kalimantan that accommodated foreign students, besides Lambung Mangkurat University and the State Islamic University (UIN) of Antasari Banjarmasin.

One foreign national from Vietnam, Mal Sout alias Mansur, has been a santri since 2014. He successfully completed his religious education at Al Ihsan Islamic Boarding School this year.

Mansur had attended the graduation ceremony and will soon returned to his country a few days later.

"Mansur is extraordinary. He not only graduated as a memorizer of the Al-Quranbut also mastered the books and Hadith of Bukhari Muslim," Taufiq said, one of the pesantren managers.
