Being the only policewoman at the Tanah Bumbu Water and Air Unit Police (Satpolairud) Chief Brig (Bripka) Meisarah seems to have to prove that the trust of the leadership to place her here was no wrong.

For Mey, nickname of the beautiful policewoman who wears hijab, her daily duties are no different from male police. She must wrestle with the rigors of the waves in the sea to swiftly guard the waters in Tanah Bumbu District.

The Srikandi (Heroine) of Satpolairud is also adept at driving various patrol boats which are the mainstay of their units. In fact, she often drives patrol boats such as Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIB) along the waters on the high seas while on patrol.

"The beginning of trial and motivation was motivated to see male fellow personnel needed help to be replaced by driving," said Mey, revealing the initial story she learned to drive a patrol boat type RIB which equipped with outboard engines.

She admitted driving a boat was very different from driving on a highway. In the waters many obstacles are faced, such as waves that cause ships to change lanes. Not to mention the tree trunks blocking the road to cause the engine to die suddenly.

The distance of 5 nautical miles from Tanah Bumbu Satpolairud headquarters on Jalan Poros Km 1 in Kodeco Port to the territorial waters of Pagatan is often hit by Mey behind the RIB speedboat steering wheel. If the distance is further than that, it is still entrusted to male police personnel who are more advanced and experienced.

Served at the Satpolairud since April 2016, Mey whose rank of Bripka (Chief Brigadier) since January 2017 was previously stationed in various units, such as the Intelligence Unit, PPA Unit, Sabhara and finally in the operational section of Tanah Bumbu Police.

Regarding her assignment at water police, this woman born in Banjarmasin on May 2, 1985 admitted that she really enjoyed it. She said this work unit has a new challenge that is different from the tasks in other functions.

"In Polairud I opened a new world about maritime affairs. I get a variety of new experiences, such as knowing the waterways and various marine crimes, "said the mother of M Nizham Adz-dzaky and Delvin Azka Faeyza.

Mey, since childhood, had dreamed of becoming a police officer. She was happy to see his father wearing the Bhayangkara corps clothes. The father, Sirajuddin, who had retired with his last assignment at Berangas Sector Police, Barito Kuala Police, must have been proud to see his daughter continue his service as a state servant.

Even so, being a policewoman for Mey is not easy. The winding, steep road must be passed. Because in the first test Mey did not qualify when entering the Final Determination Session (Pantukhir).

Even on the second test, she, who had entered education at the Women's Police School in Ciputat, South Jakarta, had to be sent home due to illness. Finally the long wait to become a policewoman materialized on the third test. She also became part of the Diktukba students in 2004, with the first service at the Balangan police station in July 2005.

As policewoman, this alumnus of high school SMAN 6 Banjarmasin claimed to be a stronger, disciplined and responsible person. Under the leadership of the Tanah Bumbu Police Chief AK Subiyantoro and the guidance of the Head of Tanah Bumbu Satpolairud AKP Parman, Mey was committed to providing the best performance for the realization of an increasingly professional Polairud in order to strengthen regional security in the territorial waters of Bumi Bersujud (Tanah Bumbu).
