The returning Eid-al-Fitr exodus has reached its peak in Trisakti Harbor Banjarmasin, Tuesday (June 11), with the arrival of 1,480 passengers, the highest transported by sea from Surabaya after Lebaran (post-fasting festivities).
The Trisakti Port Operation Superintendent Masruni here on Tuesday said all of the passengers were transported by KM Dharma Kartika IX which arrived at 11:00 WITA (Central Indonesia Time).
"This is the peak of the return flow of sea transportation in the Trisakti Port from the port of Surabaya, East Java," he said.
Earlier on Monday (10/6), KM Kirana, which docked at Trisakti Harbor at 7:30 p.m., carried 1,394 passengers and on Sunday (9/6), KM Kumala transported 1,291 passengers.
"It is possible that on Wednesday (12/6) night, KM Kumala will return to carrying more than 1,000 passengers from Surabaya," he said.
Compared to previous years, the backflow through the Trisakti Port of Banjarmasin has increased, along with the increase in air transport ticket prices.
This was also proven, when the homecoming (mudik tradition) flow from Trisakti Port to Surabaya increased by 25-30 percent.
The number of passengers for homebound using ships through the Trisakti Banjarmasin Port, South Kalimantan, to Surabaya, East Java, to D-2 reached 16 thousand people on Monday (June 3).
