Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Chairman of the National Board of Indonesian National Consultation Association (Inkindo) H Peter Prans encourages its members in the region to dare to innovate in developing services businesses outside of construction.
While attending the South Kalimantan Inkindo working meeting in Banjarmasin on Saturday, he said the business of consulting services outside of construction was very much a chance now, regional consultants must be able to grab it.
"Our members in the region are only playing in construction, even though only 20 percent shares are contested while 80 percent of the opportunities are outside construction," he said.
Opportunities for consulting services business outside of construction, he said, are in the fields of agriculture, health, forestry, and even social and other kinds of things.
"Even in Jakarta, from birth to death, there is like a consultant service business," Peter said.
He gave an example of a hospital that was designed with the services of consultants for giving birth, so that burial sites were now made with the services of consultants.
"So consultants in this area must be brave enough to read opportunities, not just to struggle with their families in construction, because foreign consultants have already penetrated beyond that, we are left behind," Peter pointed out.
He revealed, Inkindo center which is now under his coordination, with more than 6000 members will try to develop it, so that strong regulation needs to be made to the regions in order to become king in their own country.
Inkindo center, he said, has cooperated with a number of foreign consultants, including from Japan, America to Pakistan, which number around 120 companies.
Meanwhile, Head of South Kalimantan Inkindo Syamsul Arifin responded to business development outside of construction services, as a part of the need to be serious in discussing work meetings.
"We need good human resources to continue to be competitive, so we need to move together in the face of the future," he said
