Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The District Government of Tabalong was forced to convert the Athaibah Mabuun Mall shopping center into a public service center because its utilization had not been optimal.
"We are still awaiting central government approval through the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) regarding this public service mall," explained Deputy Regent Tabalong Mawardi.
Athaibah Mabuun Mall has been built for decades, but has not been used optimally so it seems useless.
If it becomes a public service mall, the first floor will be an open public area or service room, while the second floor is a One Stop Integrated Service Office and Disdukcapil (Civil Registry and Demography Agency).
In a coordination meeting with a number of agencies heads, Mawardi requested there be other supporting facilities, such as prayer rooms and breastfeeding rooms in the public service mall.
According to the Head of the Capital Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency Nanang Mulkani, the public service mall will be able to accommodate around 20 institutions.
In addition to government institutions, the private sector or state-owned enterprise (BUMN) can join in this public service mall and can have a positive impact on regional economic growth.
Head of Disdukcapil Suryanadi also welcomed the plan to build the public service mall as long as it is supported by a good regional communication network.
"We must build a regional communication network to support the service system, especially in the field of population," Suryanadi explained.
Regarding the readiness of facilities and infrastructure at Athaibah Mall, Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency Noor Rifani said his agency had done renovation since two years ago.
The coordination meeting on the utilization of the Athaibah Mall led by the Head of the Economy and Natural Resources Husin Ansyari was attended by a number of related agency heads.
