Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The realization of Measle-Rubella (MR) immunization in Banjarmasin City is still far from the target. Only 57 percent of 176 thousand children targeted have been immunized.
Lukman Hakim, acting Head of Banjarmasin Health Agency, here Wednesday said there was an increase of around 2 percent in the realization of MR immunization until December 31, 2018 compared to the previous month.
"Indeed, the increase is still very small from around 55 percent at the end of November to 57 percent at the end of December 2018," he said.
That, too, he said, because of the mayor's order requiring each State Civil Apparatus (ASN) to bring their children to the community health center (puskesmas) for those who have not been immunized.
"But it is also the problem at the end of this year when children having school holidays, so not everything can be targeted," he explained.
According to Lukman, his maximum effort continues to do to meet the national target of 92 percent of children immunized by MR.
"But indeed the reality is this for a while, so this program continues in 2019," he explained.
According to Lukman, the agency will continue to open free immunizations for children who must be immunized MR from ages above 9 months to 15 years at the puskesmas.
"We also open the posyandu (integrated health services post). Indeed, if there is also a request to go to school we'll do," he explained.
