Martapura, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Pradeep Kumnar Rawat visited Martapura on Thursday. He was welcomed by the Regional Secretary of Banjar District H NasrunSyah at the local government office.


Banjar Regent, through Regional Secretary H Nasrun Syah, thanked the arrival of the ambassador to Banjar District.

Pradeep Kumnar Rawat explained that the purpose his visit is to find out more about Banjar District, especially in the area of culture and natural resources.

He also wants to see the Indian Government in the future to assist in the development of Banjar District. His reason is that geographically the land and weather structures in Banjar are very similar to India.

Nasrun Syah on this occasion told about Banjar which is the third largest area in the South Kalimantan. Its economy is supported largely in the fields of agriculture, trade, mining, and home industry.

Besides that, Banjar has the biggest gemstone shop in Southeast Asia, namely Cahaya Bumi Selamat Shopping Center in Martapura, which is commonly visited by local and foreign tourists to look for souvenirs typical of Banjar Regency.

H Nasrun Syah hopes their meeting can be the beginning of good cooperation, to exchange information or cooperation that can improve the welfare of Banjar people.

The meeting was attended by the Head of Health Agency Ikhwansyah, Head of the Youth and Sports Agency Rakhmat Dhany, Head of Communication, Information and the Coding Agency Farid Sofyan, Head of the Housing and Settlement Agency Rahmat Kartolo, the Head of Protocol and Public Relations Aslam.
