Pelaihari, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - As many as five thousand cyclists follow the 2018 Tanah Laut MTB Cross Country whose start flag waved by South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor in front of Balairung Tuntung Pandang, Pelaihari, Sunday (10/21) morning.
The activity in the framework of the 90th Youth Oath Day was also as a medium of friendship between cyclists, especially in South Kalimantan.
According to H Endang Agustina, participants were not only from local but also from Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, even Jakarta.
"About 5,000 cyclists participated in this event. They passed the route as far as 23 km," he said.
Governor H Sahbirin Noor hopes this competition will be continued because it can foster an attitude of healthy living behavior in the community.
According to Uncle Birin, a nickname of the South Kalimantan Governor, bicycle activities can foster a generation that is healthy, honest and full of sportsmanship.
The activity was also attended by the Regent Tanah Laut H. Sukamta, and members of the Forkopimda (regional leader communication forums) of South Kalimantan and the local district.
