Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Astra International helps small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan, especially in terms of marketing of small-scale business products.
ESR Division Head of PT Astra International Riza Deliansyah here on Sunday said the company formed Kampung Berseri Astra (KBA) to help local SMEs.
"Kampung Berseri Astra is located at the Amaco Wengga I Housing Complex inSyamsudin Noor Urban Village, Subdistrict of Landasan Ulin, Banjarbaru," he said on the sidelines reviewing the village.
He said there are seven SMEs that run business in the village and Astra provide assistance, especially for marketing of processed products produced by the local community.
Efforts are made to help product marketing by holding SMEs Festival in KBA, so that people know more about the existence of the KBA.
"The assistance provided is not in the form of funds but helps direct the development of the business, so that they are able to market their products to outsiders," he said.
KBA is expected to be a pioneer for other villages, thereby fostering community spirit in running a business, especially small and micro businesses.
"We hope that KBA will be a pioneer for other kampongs in Banjarbaru City, thus SMEs will support the improvement of the economy and community welfare," he said.
According to him, PT Astra International has 73 KBA spread in several provinces in Indonesia with various assisted areas such as health, education and entrepreneurship.
