Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Chief Representative of Bank Indonesia South Kalimantan Harymurthy Gunawan optimistic economic growth in this province in 2018 could reach 5.3 to 5.7 percent.
According to Hary, the growth is supported by an increase in export growth, which encourages household consumption and investment.
"The increase in economic growth is sustained by the performance of the agricultural sector and the manufacturing sector," he said in Banjarmasin on Tuesday.
In addition, he added, the growth was also supported by increased exports of plantation and it processed commodities, in line with the continued improvement of production of oil palm plantations and the new oil palm plantations.
Meanwhile, the performance of the mining sector tends to be depressed following the weakening of coal exports, due to the lower price of coal.
The improvement in exports of various commodities, Hary added, will be able to increase household income and consumption and encourage investment, including private investment.
Hary said, currently the local government is working hard to improve the development of agriculture and other food crops.
As a result, various commodities, which previously brought from various provinces in Indonesia, can be fulfilled by farmers in their own regions.
