Kotabaru, S Kalimantan 18/2 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Deputy Chairman of Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) condemned the attack on an activist Usman Pahero, which caused head injuries and had to be rushed to a hospital in Banjarmasin.
Deputy Chairman of the Kotabaru DPRD M Arif on Sunday said he was surprised to hear the information. At the same time, he strongly condemned the criminal acts committed by the perpetrators.
"I strongly condemn the acts of the perpetrators, for it needs police officers to immediately conduct an investigation and hopefully can immediately catch the perpetrators to uncover it," said Arif.
This is important to do immediately, he added, to quickly find out what the motives of the perpetrators who targeted one activist of Kotabaru, Usman Pahero, who in fact so actively voiced the interests of the people.
Arif disclosed, himself and the victim (Usman Pahero) is a friend who has long and know each other, even since both active in the HMI (Islamic Students Association).
He is very familiar with the victim who has always voiced the idea of public interest.
This former legal practitioner expects to all Kotabaru community to be wiser in addressing various rumors in connection with criminal acts committed against the victim.
Usman Pahero was attacked by two unidentified actors early Friday morning while heading to As-Salam Mosque to perform the Subuh prayers.
Usman Pahero is active as a lecturer at the College of Teacher Training and Education (STKIP) Paris Barantai, Lecturer of Tarbiyah High School (STIT) Darul Ulum, a member of the Presidium of the Alumni Corps of the Islamic Students Association (KAHMI). In addition, Usman Pahero had been Vice Chairman of the DPRD Kotabaru period 1999-2004.
