Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Banjarmasin Tourism Agency is targeting 10 thousand tourists to visit the capital of South Kalimantan in 2018.
This is a realistic target, said the head of the agency Ikhsan Alhak here Thursday, considering Banjarmasin is internationally well-known for its unique and beautiful attractions.
Floating market which is now has scheduled activity every weekend at the siring (embankment) park of Martapura Riverside on Jalan Piere Tendean makes the capital much better known nationally and internationally.
"Indeed, our floating market culture is widely known to the world as a national tourism treasure. Now we make it more creative by presenting it at the siring park to make it easier for visitors to come," Ikhsan said.
River attraction as a mainstay of Banjarmasin tourism become very attractive to visit, he continued. Local tourists alone is estimated to reach 60 thousand in 2017.
"So in 2018 we target local tourist visit to reach 60 to 70 thousand," he said again.
Meanwhile the municipal government, he revealed, has planned to hold at least 17 events to attract the visit of tourists.
"One of which we will present Banjarmasin Sasirangan Festival, where it was very enamored in 2017," he told.
According to him, Banjarmasin is fairly proper to be a national destination of tourism, as it is the best river city in Indonesia where many river cultures are worthy to be known.
Many times the city was chosen for a various national event, either of the ministry, a national institution of an organization. And it has a good infrastructure and facilities, he said.
