Barabai, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan is now placed 29th in air and environment pollution in Indonesia, an officer of Forestry Agency said.
One of the forest counselors of the agency Rumayadi was speaking in the tree planting activity at the state Islamic junior high school MTsN 3 in Walangku Village, North Labuan Amas subdistrict, Central Hulu Sungai (HST).
Considering the condition of unclean air of South Kalimantan nowadays, he said, the Provincial Government intensely invites all walk of life, government agencies, offices, and schools altogether to plant trees.
"The program of simultaneous tree planting in South Kalimantan is to support the green revolution program in accordance with the circular of Governor No.522/132/PDASRHL," he explained.
He said that there were 12 trees to be planted consisting of four Mahogany, four Trembesi, and four Tanjung trees.
"This program is ongoing and continuous for all agencies, including schools, and there will be a monitoring for some time," he explained.
According to him, green revolution with tree planting in MTsN 3 HST is the first step for cooperation in tackling the environment pollution.
"We hope the planting of trees in HST creates shade and comfort and to create a beautiful and cool environment," he said.
The principal of MTsN 3 HST Anwar Rahzaidi said very pleasedly and grateful to the agency and the school is very supportive of the green revolution program.
"This program is also very useful and consistent and in line with the MTsN 3 HST program to go to Adiwiyata Mandiri 2019 school," said Anwar.
