Barabai, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Acting Regent of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) HA Chairansyah asserted will continue
the policy of Regent H Abdul Latif in favor of the public interest.
"Including refusing coal mining and oil palm plantations in HST, as well as redirect of Conch's large conveyance fleet to Walangsi
Kapar Ring Road," he said during a routine Subuh prayer program at Al Ishlah Mosque in Mandingin Village, Barabai Sub-district.
According to him, the policy of rejection of coal mines and oil palm plantations is based on the aspirations of HST people who
very hard reject it.
"Considering that coal mines and palm oil turn out to be more harmful than profit to the community economy, nature conservation
and sustainable development," he said.
He explained since a few years HST administration has invested about Rp500 billion of funds for agriculture development.
"If coal mining is done that proved to be much cause of environmental damage, it will make the agricultural program to be
in vain," he said.
Chairansyah also invites all components of society in Bumi Murakata (nickname for HST) to jointly unite in building the
district.
"Together we are difficult to go forward let alone if we separate, so let's unite and advance our region," he said.
