Tanjung, South Kalimantan 30/8 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Health Ministry representative Yuslely Usman said the health sector is a key holder in increasing civil registration and vital statistics.
Yuslely was speaking on socializing the Civil Registration and Statistics System to the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in Tabalong District.
"Currently, civil registration has not been widely used as the basis for making vital statistics and in Indonesia, it is still implementing surveys and census systems," he explained in Tanjung on Wednesday.
Even in the registration of deaths and causes of death has not met the needs of the health sector as the basis for making program planning and monitoring.
According to Yuslely, the health sector plays a role in strengthening the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) covering the development of `system wide` of CRVS and introducing innovations in maternal health.
"Registration of population itself has been regulated in Law No. 23/2006, but in the implementation, there are still some obstacles," said Yuslely who served as Head of Policy Analysis at the Center for Research and Development of Health (BPPK).
Besides Yuslely, also attended a number of researchers from BPPK, namely Retno Widyastuti, Merry Lusiana and Rozana Ika.
Previously this socialization was attended by Acting Head of Tabalong Health Agency Arianto and opened by Regional Secretary Abdul Muthalib Sangadji.
"We need to improve access to services in the areas of health, education, social protection, infrastructure and civil registration," said Arianto.
