Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The guard officer of Penitentiary Class IIA Banjarmasin (or popularly known as Teluk Dalam Prison) has thwarted the entry of 1,000 pills of Zenith drug into the prison.

"These findings are the biggest record ever tried to be smuggled to Teluk Dalam Prison," said acting head of the penitentiary Taufik Hidayat here on Wednesday.

He said the drugs - now widely abused and whose license was revoked - taken by a middle-aged female visitor who was visiting a prison inmate.

"The Zenith carrier we secured was Mulyana (57), a resident of Jalan Haryono MT Banjarmasin, while the drug ordered by an inmate named Edy Kadarusman (44), a brother of Mulyana," Taufik Hidayat told AntaranewsKalsel.

Mulyana initially entered the front door of the prison, Wednesday afternoon. But two boxes of cakes she brought made the officers suspicious. Once checked, behind the cake in each box was hidden 500 Zenith pills.

"We directly hand over the perpetrator to the drug detective police Banjarmasin for further legal process," he said.

While the inmate involved was directly examined intensively to reveal further if there are other parties on it, especially the other inmates.

Meanwhile, Mulyana confessed she was asked by her brother to bring Zenith to prison. She bought the drug herself for Rp18 thousand per piece. Each piece contains 10 pills.

Edy Kadarusman claimed to have a lot of debt. The proceeds from Zenith's sale in prisons will be used to pay off the debt.
