At least 216 homes were submerged in the three villages, while the flood waters reached a height of one-three meters and continued to rise, head of the sub-district, Ilham, said here on Tuesday.
The three villages affected by the flood were Melemba, Sepandan, and Lanja Deras, he added.
In Melemba village, 26 houses and three public facilities were swamped by flood waters, leading to losses to the tune of Rp40 million to Rp75 million.
In Sepandan, floods inundated 95 houses and eight public facilities, with losses estimated at about Rp40 million - 100 million.
In Lanjak Deras village, floods submerged 95 homes and eight public facilities, with losses pegged at around Rp 40 - 100 million.
"We have reported the impact of the flooding to the Kapuas Hulu Regional Disaster Mitigation Office," Ilham said.
The flooding has paralyzed activities in the three villages, particularly the local economy, he added.
He appealed to the public to remain vigilant as more flooding is expected in the area. The local authorities have readied temporary shelters to accommodate flood victims.
