Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Task Force for Acceleration Handling of COVID-19 found 873 new positive cases of COVID-19 based on the results of mass swab test conducted from 14 to 23 of August 2020 in 13 districts and cities.
The spokesman of the task force HM Muslim in Banjarbaru Tuesday afternoon said, the mass swab test had exceeded the target. Of 10 thousand targets set till August 23 the test had been carried out to 12,32 people or 120,3 percent.
A total of 11,558 specimens have been examined and the results were 873 specimens or 7.6 percent tested positive for COVID-19.
"For residents who tested positive, the government will immediately carry out isolation and quarantine measure for treatment," he said.

North Hulu Sungai (HSU), Central Hulu Sungai (HST), Barito Kuala, and Banjarbaru were the highest contribution of the new cases found in the mass test.
Muslim said, the amount of confirmed positive was believed to increase as there were still a number of specimens that had not been examined.
In addition, there are still 915 COVID-19 suspects to be targeted for a swab test.
According to him, the mass swab was an effort to find hidden cases of COVID-19 in the community, thus the transmission can be prevented.

Now the government, community organization, private companies, in almost all districts and cities, are distributing masks to support people in applying health protocol.
