The District Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) since the beginning of last week routinely conducted patrols with TNI and Polri officials in an effort to anticipate land fires.
"Together with the TNI, Polri, and Manggala Agni and the community, we from BPBD conducted forest and land fire (karhutla) patrols in areas that have the potential for land fires, in order to prevent even high fire cases," said HSU BPBD Emergency and Logistics staff Udi Hartono in Amuntai on Thursday.
Udi said, the patrol simultaneously monitored the conditions in the community to find out the existence of disaster management facilities along with the task force or voluntary workers in the village.
The joint team also socialized and urged the public not to burn land and avoid certain activities to avoid the impact of natural disasters.
