Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Director of Traffic (Dirlantas) South Kalimantan Regional Police Sr Comr (Kombes) Muji Ediyanto appealed for Popular Health Transportation (TSM) to be echoed. He invited people to switch to environmentally friendly modes of transportation.
"If the distance between the house and the work place is not too far, then cycling is the best choice besides being healthy it is environmentally friendly, of course," Muji said in Banjarmasin on Friday.
According to him, the use of bicycles was also encouraged continuously for students who go for school. The fact is, he said, high school students use motorbikes.
"I instruct members in the field to frequently raid students who use motorbikes because it is feared that many do not have a driver's license. Their ticket will provide a deterrent effect, because it is clear they are prohibited from driving motor vehicles," Muji stressed.
If the distance of the house to the school or workplace is quite far, then public transportation should be an option.
Muji acknowledged, solicitation for the use of public transportation must begin with the provision of convenient public transportation by the government and related parties.
"The commencement of mass transportation services Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Banjarbakula that serves residents for Banjarmasin to Banjarbaru routes is certainly very supportive because this is part of civilizing TSM," he explained.
