Regent Banjar Khalilurrahman socialized the Serasi  (Selamatkan Rawa Sejahterakan Petani) program in an effort to utilize swamp land to further improve the welfare of farmers.


In addition to socialization, the regent of Saturday also handed over tools and agricultural machinery (alsintan) and inaugurated farmers' groups at the office of Food Crops and Horticulture (TPH) Agency in Tungkaran Village, Martapura.

"This government assistance aims to encourage farmers to work more diligently in cultivating land, especially swamps, which have not yet been exploited maximally, even though they have great potential to be developed," he said.

Before submitting hand tractor, power treaser (rice threshing machine), harvester (rice harvesting machine), water pump, spayer and others, the regent inaugurated farmer groups.

The number of farmer groups confirmed as many as 508 groups covering 4 sub-districts, namely 99 farmer groups from Martapura, 127 groups from Martapura Barat, 151 groups from Astambul, and 131 from Mataraman.

Head of the Food Crop and Horticulture Agency M Fachri said the delivery of agricultural equipment to farmers to support the development of agricultural and horticulture cultivation in various areas.

"Our hope is the distribution of alsintan will increase the enthusiasm of farmers in cultivating agricultural land, especially rice, which initially harvests once a year to twice," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the South Kalimantan TPH Office Syamsyir Rahman asked the group of recipient to take good care of the alsintan which are used with the loan and use system.

"Please take care of this government assistance. Do not let anyone be bought and sold, such as excavator assistance a village, which was stripped down and the components were sold until the state loses," he reminded.
