Kandangan, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Regent H Achmad Fikry in Bamban Village, Angkinang Subdistrict inaugurated a school bus to transport students with the route of Angkinang - Kandangan.
He said, the district already has 15 student transport fleets, which are spread in several areas in the form of buses and mini buses. Thus there is no reason not to go to school just because of means of transportation.
"The inaugurated school bus is assistance from the Directorate General (Dirjen) of Land Transportation, and so it can be utilized as well as possible by students in supporting education," he said.
He recommended, the parents who had been giving motorbikes to their children, to use the bus instead. Especially students who have been banned from using their own motorbikes because they don't have driver's license (SIM).
Head of the South Kalimantan Region XV Land Transportation Management Office Ardono said that the bus assistance was given given the number of accidents, especially those affecting motorcycle users.
According to him, from the data of the entire motor vehicle accident 70 percent occurred at the age of adolescents aged 13-15 years.
