Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) strived to make the price of airline tickets cheap or at least not as expensive as they have been lately.

"Head of the Air Transportation Directorate General's Sub Directorate of Airport of the Ministry of Transportation Cecep expressed this effort when we consulted in Jakarta on January 14," said Secretary of Commission III of South Kalimantan DPRD H Riswandi SIP here on Thursday.

"However, the ministry cannot promise when the airplane tickets will be cheap or back to normal, because it depends on the results of lobbying with airlines," he said.

The Ministry of Transportation's efforts to make cheap airplane ticket prices include writing to the Indonesian National Air Carrier Association (INACA). In addition, it wrote to the national airline to reduce ticket prices in order to avoid or reduce the cries of air transport service users, said the three-period member of South Kalimantan DPRD from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).

The Commission III chaired by Dr. (HC) H Supian HK SH from the Golkar Party consulted with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to propose that Syamsudin Noor Airport immediately become an international airport.

"The inauguration proposal as an international airport is in line with the operation of the Syamsudin Noor Airport after the airport expansion and the development of facilities and infrastructure completed which as is scheduled to be in October," he said.
