Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Hasnur Group mining company added coal exports to Japan to a total of 2 million tons this year.


Hasnur Group Finance Director Samsul Bachri Djadi in Banjarmasin on Friday said the company through its subsidiary PT Hasnur Jaya International (HJI) has signed a new contract with Itochu Corporation in Tokyo on that day (24/8) for the purchase of coal.

"The two companies signed an agreement on the addition of 500,000 tons of coal orders this year," he said.

According to Syamsul, the signing was represented by Etsuo as Deputy General Manager of Itochu Corporation's Coal & Nuclear Fuel Department Metal and Mineral Company and Hendra Santoso as Director of Bumi Rantau Energi which is a subsidiary of HJI.

With the addition of this purchase, he said, Itochu which originally ordered the purchase of 1.5 million tons throughout 2018 to become 2 million tons.

According to Syamsul, Itochu is a large company in Japan that has cooperation with Hasnur Group to buy coal since 2012.

"Even our company cooperation with large companies in Japan is until 2021," said Syamsul.

Itochu, he said, strongly believes in the Hasnur Group for this partnership, because the company in meeting their needs always keeps their promises.

In addition, he said, Itochu recognizes the integrity of Hasnur Group as a large coal company in Indonesia which has a complete infrastructure.

As stated by the Director of Bumi Rantau Energi, this additional purchase uses a price of USS 45 per ton. "Thus, this additional new contract value is worth around US$ 90 million," he said.

Hasnur Jaya International (HJI) is a mining sub-holding owned by Hasnur Group, a company founded by the late H Abdussamad Sulaiman HB, a businessman and South Kalimantan figure who owns the Barito Putera football club.
