Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Banjarbaru Mayor Nadjmi Adhani offers 'aerocity' or airport-based city development to investors who interested to invest here.
"We offer investors to build an airport-based city," he said in Banjarbaru Friday after attending the signing of the construction of an oil palm plant.
The MoU signing in Gawi Sabarataan Hall, Banjarbaru City Government, was done by Chairman of DXN Holding PT Daxen Agri Pratama Dato Dr Lim Siow Jin who is known as the 3rd richest person in Malaysia.
The company is working with the Professional Services Cooperative (KPJ) Cipta Prima Sejahtera Banjarmasin to build a oil palm factory in Jorong, Tanah Laut District, South Kalimantan.
"The momentum of the signing, which was attended by the 3rd richest person in Malaysia, is an opportunity to offer the aerocity development and he is expected to be interested," he said.
He explained the concept of airport-based city development is utilizing the existence of an airport as an attraction, so it can grow other sectors.
"Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin is located in Banjarbaru City, so it can be used as an 'aerocity' to attract investors to invest in various sectors," he pointed out.
He said that currently concept of an airport-based city is being reviewed by five relevant ministries. If it has been established as an airport-based city, it is immediately followed up with the provision of facilities and infrastructure.
"The municipal government is ready to build supporting infrastructure, such as roads and other facilities. We hope the study will be completed so the concept of aerocity can be realized," he said.
