Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Now the South Kalimantan Police Traffic Directorate can monitor the street situation from 80 CCTV cameras which are connected to the Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC) Regional.
"Now there are 80 CCTV cameras scattered throughout South Kalimantan as a tool for RTMC officers to monitor," said South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Brigadier General Rachmat Mulyana on Thursday.
He was speaking at the grand launching of RTMC attended by Governor H Sahbirin Noor and Deputy Minister of Public Service Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Diah Natalisa in Mathilda Batlayeri Hall.
According to him, RTMC now has a complete device. In addition to CCTV cameras, there are also 30 traffic announcers attached to the traffic light at intersection points.
"Traffic announcer is a loudspeaker device that in real time can convey an appeal to road users or reprimand traffic violators of a red light," explained the one-star general.
While the traffic patrol car either of Traffic Directorate or Resort Police also installed with 105 GPS which are connected directly to RTMC.
Rachmat hopes, South Kalimantan Police can improve public service with the RTMC. Effectiveness and efficiency of time is obviously helpful with real-time officers can provide services about traffic on the highway.
People can also use RTMC for various things. For example, a victim of street crime, including for members in other functions, such as crime detective police can directly request assistance to RTMC officers.
Governor Sahbirin Noor gave a thumbs-up for innovative breakthroughs made by South Kalimantan Police Chief and his staff.
"Moreover, this RTMC is thanks to a good synergy between Regional Police and Provincial Government, and RTMC is one form of pursuing acceleration of development in South Kalimantan, which in the end for the community," said the governor.
The presence of RTMC also received appreciation from the central government. Deputy Minister of Public Service Diah Natalisa said the realization of RTMC is a concrete form of harmonious and synergic collaboration between the Provincial Government and South Kalimantan Police.
"The areas that do not have the Command Center system I hope can utilize RTMC to provide information and educate the public.Especially in RTMC there is air quality standard information, so it should be a thumbs up collaboration that leads to the acceleration of development," she explained.
The development of RTMC has been initiated by South Kalimantan Police since 2014. The Provincial Government participates by providing assistance for its development.
Among other things, said Director of Traffic Sr Comr E Zulpan, in 2014 amounting to Rp1,2 billion for the construction of physical buildings. The next Rp15 billion in 2016 for the development of equipment and installation network equipment up to CCTV.
"Currently CCTV in Banjarmasin are in 24 points, Banjarbaru 7 points, Banjar districts 8, Tapin 4, HSS 4, HST 3, HSU 2, Tabalong 9, Tanah Laut 4, Kotabaru 4, Barito Kuala 5, Tanah Bumbu 4, and 2 in Balangan," said Zulpan.
