Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf held a dialogue with prospective students of Sekolah Rakyat (People's School) and their parents to explain the program's benefits in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, Monday.

In their dialogue, the Minister expounded three noble ideals of President Prabowo Subianto when initiating this program.

“First is to honor little people (wong cilik) by providing respect and excellent school facilities , excellent service, and fostering student confidence so they feel equal and empowered, all facilitated by the state,” he said.

Then, reaching the unreached. It means that Sekolah Rakyat reaches the lowest levels of society, those who have been left behind or excluded from proper education process.

Finally, said the Minister, President Prabowo aspires to make the impossible possible in education.

Saifullah explained that Sekolah Rakyat is to provide hope, foster aspirations, turning impossible dreams into possibilities, create new enablers. Those who attend Sekolah Rakyat should not suffer the same fate as their parents, who lacked adequate educational facilities.

On that occasion, he urged the potential students of Sekolah Rakyat to seriously pursuing their education, as all cost are covered by the state.

In addition to prospective students and parents, Social Affairs Minister also held a dialogue with teachers who will teach at the People's School at the Banjarbaru BLK, which is managed by the provincial government.
