Tanjung, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Based on Satellite Images of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and direct monitoring in the field four hotspots found in Tabalong, South Kalimantan.
Section Head of Protection Unit of Forest Management Unit (KPH) Tabalong Rahmat Riadi in Tanjung on Tuesday said the location of the hotspots are not in forest areas but in rubber plantations and shrubs.
"After checking to the location it turns out that the burned land are rubber plant and shrubs," said Rahmat.
The details are two hotspots one burning area of about 500 square meters and another one hectare in Tanta Subdistrict. Then two hotspots in Muara HarusSub-district with a burning area reaching three hectares in the form of oil palm and shrubs.
Furthermore, KPH Tabalong together with local forest fire brigade team conducted socialization related to forest and land fire considering the peak of the dry season is estimated in August.
Previously, the socialization was conducted around the forest area of Salikung Village and Santu`un Village, Muara Uya Subdistrict.
