Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A head of a neighborhood unit (RT) in Banjarbaru was arrested by an illegal levies eradication task force (Saber Pungli) for proven of doing levy on national agrarian program (prona) certificate.
Chairman of the Saber Pungli Banjarbaru Commissioner Iwan Wahyu Purnomo in Banjarbaru on Tuesday said the suspect whose initial MR (52) was caught with evidence of millions of rupiah.
"The head of RT was arrested on Monday (22/5) morning at a restaurant on Jalan Angkasa Banjarbaru and the evidence confiscated Rp3 million," said the Deputy Chief of Banjarbaru police.
He said the person in charge of the RT is being detained in the Banjarbaru police detention for further examination, and the case is in a criminal act of corruption under the threat of severe penalties.
The arrest of MR started from the public information related to the levy on the issuance of 2014 prona certificate which was coordinated by the suspect.
Information received by the task force on Friday (19/5) that the handover of money will be done at the restaurant on Jalan Angkasa, Syamsudin Noor, Monday (22/5) morning.
"Officers had lurked at the mentioned place and after it was confirmed the illegal levies occurred they directly red handed the suspect with the evidence of certificates and cash," he said.
The suspect said to the officers illegal levy ranging from Rp1 million to Rp3 million for the purchase of blanks at the National Land Agency (BPN) and stamp duty.
Head of BPN Banjarbaru Yanuari said, the prona which is a government program is free of charge, including blanks are provided free of charge.
