Swarangan seaport to be resumed early July

Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Regent Tanah Laut Bambang Alamsyah said the construction of Swarangan seaport in the Jorong sub-district to be resumed by the central government in early July 2017 .

"The certainty is after the issuance of the port master plan from the Ministry of Transportation," said regent in Pelaihari, Wednesday.

According to him, the budget set for the continuation of the Swarangan seaport construction of through the Ministry of Transportation is about Rp168 billion.

While Tanah Laut regency has donated six hectare of land to support the acceleration development of the port.

The existence of Swarangan seaports, he said, is to support the central government program that sets Jorong as a national strategic area.

He hoped that the resumption of construction of Swarangan sea port will be a positive impact on the Tanah Laut economy in particular and South Kalimantan in general.

With the port, he explained, many economic activities to occur. "In fact, the realization of seaports Swarangan make the Tanah Laut as a gateway for South Kalimantan," he said.
