President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), on Friday morning, presided over the final meeting of his Onward Indonesia Cabinet in the final month of his presidency.
"This is the last cabinet meeting of the Onward Indonesia Cabinet," the president emphasized while opening the final cabinet meeting at the Garuda Palace here.
At the meeting attended by all cabinet ministers, Jokowi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for their dedication and hard work in performing their duties for the nation and implementing the president's programs and visions.
He said the cabinet will effectively be disbanded by October 20, 2024, when Prabowo Subianto is inaugurated and officially succeeded him for the presidency.
Jokowi also called on the cabinet ministers to ensure the continuity of ongoing programs and policies and to carry out incomplete tasks and duties in the last month of their tenure.
The president specifically called on the ministers to maintain the people's purchasing power, the current economic growth, and security and order stability.
"Refrain from implementing overly extreme policies, especially on aspects related to the people's livelihood, which can harm the common people or cause discord," the president told the cabinet ministers.
In his final month of the presidency, Widodo started working at the new capital, Nusantara, on Thursday (September 12) and will continue to do so until October 19, 2024. During that period, he will also conduct working visits to various regions of Indonesia.
