Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Mayor Banjarbaru Nadjmi Adhani officially closed three localization and ready to take firm action against female sex workers and men who still come to these places of prostitution.


"Starting today, Thursday (15/12) we officially closed the three localization and there should be no more prostitution in these three separate places," said mayor in Banjarbaru, Thursday.

Furthermore, the city government put public order (Satpol PP) personnel to guard the three ex-localization and ready to take action against those who are still doing prostitution according Banjarbaru City Regulation No.6/2002.

"The sanction is either imprisonment or a fine body. But we hope there are no more parties who run prostitution in the three places," he said.

The three localization (Pembatuan Dalam, Batu Besi, and Pal 18) closure followed by the repatriation of the entire former sex workers (PSK) to their respective areas, so they no longer doing prostitution.

The repatriation to their area of origin with assistance by the Ministry of Social Affairs who provided them with economically productive work (UEP), life assurance, and translok of Rp5.050.000.

"The whole ex-PSK as many as 346 were sent back to their hometown with capital assistance and life assurance that they can start a new life," he said.

Meanwhile, Director of Social Rehabilitation and Non-Social Victims of Human Trafficking (RSTS-KPO) of Ministry of Social Sonny W Manalu handed over the Social aid delivery for the former prostitutes. 

"The amount of aid delivered by Rp1,76 billion to 346 ex-PSK. Each PSK receive Rp5.050.000 assistance in the form of savings," he said.
