Batulicin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Batulicin Sector Police caught a driver who transported ulin (ironwood) allegedly undocumented with Certificate of Legal Forest Products (SKSHH).
"The driver can not show proof of legality of timber he transported," said Batulicin police chief Ipda Setiawan A Malik through chief of crime detective unit Bripka M Sahidin in Batulicin, Tuesday.
The driver, identified as AA (23), a citizen of Tanah Laut.
In addition to capturing the driver, police also secured evidence in the form of the truck loaded with eight cubic ironwood.
The perpetrator was arrested on Saturday (3/12) night at around 21:30 pm at Jalan Desa Maju Bersama, Tanah Bumbu District.
"At this time the perpetrator and the evidence had been secured at the police headquarters, in order to further process," he said.
The perpetrator has been named as a suspect and charged under Article Article 83 Paragraph (1) b of Law Decree No. 18 of 2013 on the prevention and eradication of forest destruction.
Batulicin Police will continue to conduct patrols in areas prone to crime, and for anyone who commits an offense then will be acted firmly according to the rules.
"To continue the program of the National Police, in addition to patrol we also appeal to the entire community and provide socialization through Babhinkamtibmas with related laws in Indonesia," he said.
