Bandung, West Java (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan takraw ball team managed to subvert the host West Java in a in the National Games (PON) XIX, Wednesday.


In the second day takraw games at the GOR (sport hall)University of Pendidikan Indonesia in Bandung, the South Kalimantan team managed to subvert the host with a score of 2:1 through three sets games by 21:16, 17:21 and 21:12.

Earlier in PON XIX, the takraw athletes from South Kalimantan beated West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) team with two straight sets 21:17 and 21:11.

But in the third game, they should recognized the benefits of Jakarta takraw squad with a score of 21: 9 and 21: 9.

Chairman of the Indonesian Sepak Takraw Association (PSTI) branch of South Kalimantan H Puar Junaidi expressed joy over the province achievement in PON XIX.

However Puar remained hopeful his foster takraw athletes able to win in the following game to a more encouraging achievement, which is to get the gold medal.

"We hope that the achievements of South Kalimantan takraw athletes just the same as in Pre PON XIX by winning a gold medal," he said on the sidelines to watch the sport game.

South Kalimantan takraw athletes who compete in the PON XIX consists of Herdi Harviyanto (Smasher), Adi Purnomo (Smasher) and Miftakhurrahman (Tekong), were supported by the fans who commanded by the chairman of the provincial PSTI.
