Barabai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The government of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) is preparing local featured production in fisheries sector by improving local production in some sub-districts.
Vice Regent H A Chairansyah in Barabai on Tuesday said the development of local fish production will be divided in several sub-districts, according to the fisheries development of each region.
"We could make some areas of the HST as featured certain species of fish. In other words, here we will have kampung papuyu (the village of climbing perch), haruan kampung (the village of snakehead fish), and others," he said.
The program, he added, would encourage the whole community to be willing to carry out fish farming business in order to achieve fulfillment of fish in the area.
Their fishery featured products in their respective areas, he added, will allow residents to get fish they want. For example, residents want papuyu, they go to Kampung Papuyu, and so on.

cultivation to fulfil at least the local need.
The development of featured areas program, he said, as efforts of local authorities to support the national program to improve eating fish at the same time improving the welfare of society.
