Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa to attend the prostitution closing declaration in the Murjani Field, Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, on Sunday (18/9).


"Minister confirmed to attend and participate directly to witness declaration which will be attended by various components of society," said Banjarbaru Mayor Nadjmi Adhani here on Friday.

He said the declaration will be officially held involves many parties are invited, from the governor and members of the South Kalimantan Consultative Forum.

Heads of regions throughout South Kalimantan, army and police officials, municipal government officials, religious and community leaders, leaders of community organizations and youth organizations.

"We also invite the public to attend the declaration. The total number of participants reached a thousand people. All pledge to support the closure of the place," he said.

He insisted that the presence of the Minister and all South Kalimantan stakeholders is very important, because it becomes a serious Banjarbaru amplifier that the municipal government to shut down the immoral place.

"We are very serious to shut down brothels which have already been closed, but still operates, and expect the whole community to support the closure," he said.

He said the three places of prostitution are Pal 18 on Jalan Ahmad Yani km 18 Banjarbaru that was already closed, then Pembatuan Dalam and Batu Besi at Jalan Ahmad Yani km 28.

According to him, the presence of Social Affairs Minister also to see the ministry program to improve the lives of former commercial sex workers has been implemented by Banjarbaru municipal government.

"The ministry ready to provide living expenses and working capital for former sex workers, so the presence of Social Minister could see immediately that the program has already started," he said.

Closure of prostitution is done to help former sex workers live a good and honorable without committing immoral acts.
