Amuntai, (Antaranews.Kalsel) - The North Hulu Sungai Fisheries and Livestock Agency (Diskannak) continues to motivate farmers to process their fish production to increase their income.

Head of Fishery Products Processing (P2HP) Diskannak Rusinah in Amuntai said on Tuesday the processing of fish production is an alternative to improve the welfare of farmers.

"If only sell the catch and aquaculture of course the result is still low, especially with many middlemen who determine the price of fish," she said.

Rusinah said, some farmers who only marketing their catches should be given a stimulus or motivation to start joining in a group of farmers processing of fishery products (poklahsar).

She said many poklahsars produce variegated results of processed foods such as fish crackers, shredded, steamed fish, nuggets, meatballs and other bulb.

"We continue to provide guidance and training to the production of processed fish more to be more innovative and varied because it must compete in the market," she said.

Diskannak also often suggests farmers to change the packaging each year to attract more attention. The same packaging every year can cause boredom and tedium of consumers.

Rusinah said production of processed fish is marketed by the artisans at higher prices than if sold without being processed.

Production of processed fish sold in the traditional markets in North Hulu Sungai (HSU) then marketed back by collectors out HSU and South Kalimantan.
